Maialino - Gramercy Park, NYC

Source: GramercyParkHotel.com
Danny Meyer's take on an Italian trattoria tucked away in the Gramercy park hotel. Warm and inviting space- huge beautiful brass and wood bar and glass cases filled with bread cheese and prosciutto. Menu is adventurous- crispy sucking pig face (poor piggy!!) sweetbreads, liver etc. and a huge selection of cheeses, meats & bread to nibble on when choosing your meal.

Address: 2 Lexington Avenue, New York, NY
Website: Maialinonyc.com
Snap pea salad with mint- crisp bright flavors contrasted nicely
with the salty firm cheese.
Prosciutto and mozzarella - this is the best prosciutto di Parma
I've ever had. Silky and buttery crepe paper thin bites of heaven.
Insanely delicious.
Maialino al forno - roast suckling pig with rosemary potatoes.
Over the top rich- salty crunchy pork skin revealing succulent slow
roasted meat served on potatoes so infused with flavor, you
can only eat a few. This dish is best shared among several people.
Tonnarelli (house made spaghetti basically) with pecorino and black
pepper - simple and divine. Perfect amount of heat from pepper
and Al dente pasta that absorbed the sauce beautifully.
