NoMad Bar - Flatiron, NYC

I'm a big fan of the Nomad restaurant and specifically their signature chicken dish- stuffed with a challah foie gras and truffle stuffing, I love everything about the food and vibe there so naturally I have had the nomad bar- a space right next to their hotel/restaurant- on my list for quite some time.
I was finally able to make it there last night, and I was not disappointed. Long, dark, mahogany bar with every cocktail imaginable expertly swirled, shaken and crafted by handsome well-coiffed professional mixologists.

If you're ever in need of an indulgence that is really an unrivaled culinary sensory experience - go to the nomad bar- treat yo self!

Address: 1170 Broadway & 28th St., New York, NY
Website: NoMadHotel.com

Bay scallops ceviche - marinated in yuzu served in
their shells with pistachios. Simple, perfect
start to evening- recommend with a glass of
Silver Thread Dry Riesling from the Finger Lakes.
The main event- the chicken pot pie with black
truffle and foie gras. The pie comes out steaming
hot - with a side of 2 perfectly seared chunks of
foie gras and a spoon full of truffle cream.
The server stabs a hole in the top of the crust and
drops the foie gras and cream into the
steamy delicious mix.
The pot pie filling is as hot as molten lava with
perfectly cooked pieces of potato, parsnip,
carrots, peas and pearl onions. The crust
is both crunchy and crispy on the top
and chewy on the bottom- a perfect
mix of texture and flavors. This is
well worth the $36 price tag.
