The Place - Guilford, CT

On the main drag of Guilford, CT is a rustic, throw back summer shack called The Place. Very no frills operation with stump seating around wooden tables, an open wood fired grill and a BYOB vibe. Patrons walk in with coolers filled with everything from bottles of Jordan to large plastic containers filled with macaroni salad. The menu is simple, likely the same since 1971.

Address: 901 Boston Post Rd, Guilford, CT
Website: ThePlaceGuilford.com

The tables - early on.
Our table- sav blanc, bread, lemons, butter & beer.
Grilled corn in the husk- was skeptical eating
corn on the cob not in season, but was
darn good- smoky salty sweet and crunchy.
Grill lobster- skip the fake weird butter
or Byob (bring your own butter. They'll
heat it on the grill for you) or just lemon
juice. Seriously good lobster
Grilled clams with cocktail sauce.  Get a double order
of these and bring some hot sauce for them! Briny and scrumptious.
